What we print on

Substrates from brick to glass—if it’s in spec, we’ll tell you upfront

Texture, coating, and moisture still rule every job. This grid is the shorthand; your wall gets a real compatibility check before we lock pricing.

How it works

From your idea to the wall—here’s how direct printing works

No vinyl sheets, no wallpaper paste, no hand-painting. A rail-mounted inkjet moves across your wall and lays down UV-cured ink that bonds permanently to the surface.

  1. Setup

A rail system mounts to or near the wall — setup takes under an hour, no permanent fixtures.

  2. Upload

Your artwork is loaded into the print controller. We handle file prep, scaling, and color management.

  3. Print

The printer moves in precise vertical passes. UV-curable ink bonds to the surface and cures instantly — no drying time.

  4. Done

Rails come down, the wall is ready immediately. No lamination, no wait, no lingering fumes.

Example work

See what's possibleon your walls

Real-world moods—lobbies, retail, stairwells, full-height exteriors—showing what direct-to-wall UV printing can look like when the file and surface are dialed in.

Before & after

Same-site documentation — gallery coming

We only show before and after from the identical space(same camera angle when possible). That library is still growing as we finish Seattle and Eastside installs—we're not padding it with unrelated stock.

When you're ready, we'll light this section up with documented Puget Sound walls— empty drywall or patch-out, then the same surface with your print.

Why us

How wall printing stacks up for brand-led spaces

Wall printing is one tool among many—here’s how we compare on the details that matter to facilities and brand teams.

Speed to finished wall

Seattle Wall Co.
Robotic printer + UV-cured ink — most single walls finish in hours, not days or weeks.
Vinyl install
Fast when design is simple; complex gradients can require multiple panels.
Muralist
Authentic craft; timeline scales with artist availability and complexity.
DIY / budget
Depends on operator skill; mistakes are costly on large surfaces.

Color fidelity & gradients

Seattle Wall Co.
Color-managed RIP; strong for brand gradients and photography at scale.
Vinyl install
Excellent solids; some gradients show seams or lamination tradeoffs.
Muralist
Organic blending; may deviate slightly from Pantone-perfect matches.
DIY / budget
Variable; often limited by file prep and onsite conditions.

Max height & access

Seattle Wall Co.
Tall installs with planned lifts/scaffold; coordinated with building teams.
Vinyl install
Similar access needs; panel seams increase with height.
Muralist
May require extended lifts for large façades.
DIY / budget
Equipment limits frequently cap safe height.

Design support

Seattle Wall Co.
Partners with your agency or builds print-ready art in-house.
Vinyl install
Often print-only unless shop retains designers.
Muralist
Custom artwork is the core deliverable.
DIY / budget
You source files and own outcomes.

Durability aftercare

Seattle Wall Co.
UV-cured inks rated 7–10+ years indoors. Protective finishes specified to traffic; documented care guides.
Vinyl install
Durable when specified correctly; edges can lift in dirty installs.
Muralist
Touch-up tied to artist schedule and travel.
DIY / budget
Varies widely by ink/media; often minimal warranty.

Seam visibility

Seattle Wall Co.
Zero seams — the printer covers the wall in continuous passes regardless of size.
Vinyl install
Panel seams visible on large walls and solid colors; edges can lift over time.
Muralist
No seams — hand-painted is inherently seamless.
DIY / budget
Seams or overlap marks common with panel-based approaches.

Textured & rough surfaces

Seattle Wall Co.
Prints directly on brick, CMU, concrete, stucco — surfaces that reject vinyl.
Vinyl install
Requires smooth surfaces; textured walls cause bubbling and poor adhesion.
Muralist
Artists can paint on any surface, though speed varies with texture.
DIY / budget
Very difficult on rough surfaces without professional experience.

Pricing guide

Ranges you can plan against—not a bait-and-switch

Every wall is different. These bands help you budget; your final quote locks after photos or a site visit confirms measurements, access, and finishes. As a planning anchor, a lot of interior work we scope lands around $18–25/sq ft of graphic area when art is print-ready and the wall is cooperative—texture, lift, design time, and rush move that number. If you have a small, honest scope—think a couple of hours on wall—we won't invent a faux minimum just to pad the ticket.

Half-day / quick scope

From ~$500

Tight, print-ready work we can finish in a short visit—small graphics, touch-ups, or a modest panel when access is simple and prep is minimal. Travel and site realities still apply; we'll say no if the scope isn't a fit.

Focused accent

$2.5k – $6.5k

One hero wall with print-ready art—think roughly **10–18 ft × 8–10 ft** (~80–180 sq ft). Many jobs in this bucket land near **~$18–$25/sq ft** of graphic on straightforward drywall before lifts or heavy design.

Most common

Signature program

$8k – $22k

Multi-panel stories, color-managed proofs, lift or after-hours access. Typical for HQ refreshes and flagship retail.

Campus + rollout

Custom

Phased installs, facility documentation, and optional retainers as you add sites.

Quick estimator

Rough budget from wall size

Math starts near $18–25/sq ft of graphic area (width × height), then surface, design, lift, and rush adjust it. Output is a planning range only—we lock real numbers after photos or a walkthrough. Half-day scopes with a tight brief can still land in the hundreds—we won't force a big minimum on a small wall.

Surface
Design

What moves the number

  • Mobilization vs. time on wall (tiny jobs can still mean a truck roll)
  • Wall height and lift requirements
  • Surface prep or priming
  • Design creation vs. print-ready files
  • After-hours or weekend access
  • Rush timelines
  • Travel outside core Puget Sound service area

Ranges are estimates for planning—not a binding offer. Contracts and signed proposals govern scope.

Process

From first email to final photo—with zero ambiguity

  1. Discovery

We review your wall, timeline, and creative direction—photos, plans, or an on-site walkthrough in Seattle or the Eastside.

  2. Design & approval

Color-managed proofs, a substrate compatibility check to confirm your wall is print-ready, and a clear install plan so facilities and marketing stay aligned.

  3. Print day

The vertical printer mounts on a rail system, moves in precise passes, and lays UV-cured ink that dries instantly. Most single-wall jobs finish in a few hours — no drying time, no fumes.

  4. Walkthrough & care

Punch list, care notes, and optional maintenance schedule. UV-cured prints need zero cure time — the wall is ready to use immediately. We want it to look intentional on day 300, not just day one.

FAQ

Answers before we step onsite

Straight talk on substrates, access, and schedules—so your facilities team sees us coming.

What is a vertical wall printer?+

It's a rail-guided print system that moves vertically across your wall, laying down full-color, UV-curable ink that bonds directly to the surface and cures instantly—no vinyl, no wallpaper, no hand-painting. Think of it as a large-format printer that uses your wall as the canvas.

How is this different from vinyl wraps?+

Vinyl is a printed film that gets glued to the wall. Over time it can peel, bubble, and show seams — especially on large walls or textured surfaces. Direct-to-wall printing has zero seams, works on rough surfaces like brick and concrete, and produces a finish that looks painted on because it literally is.

How long does the print last?+

Interior prints with UV-cured inks typically last 7–10+ years with normal wear. Exterior prints with a protective clear coat are rated for 3–5+ years depending on sun exposure and weather. We specify finishes based on your wall's traffic and environment.

Can you print on brick or concrete?+

Yes — that's one of the biggest advantages over vinyl. The printer adjusts its head distance to follow surface contours. We run a substrate test to confirm ink adhesion before committing to a full print. Brick, CMU, concrete, stucco, and sealed wood are all fair game.

What surfaces can you print on?+

Most painted drywall, sealed concrete, and many commercial wall finishes work well. Rough brick, heavily textured stucco, or unsound paint may need prep or a different approach—we'll tell you honestly after photos or a site visit.

Do I need a lift or special access?+

For tall walls we coordinate lifts or scaffold when needed. Fees depend on building rules, after-hours access, and parking. We quote this up front so there are no surprises.

How long does an install take?+

Small projects often finish in a day; larger or multi-wall programs can run 2–4 days including protection, print passes, and QC. Rush timelines are sometimes possible—ask early.

Indoor vs. outdoor—what's different?+

Outdoor work needs UV-stable inks/materials and weather considerations. Many of our Seattle installs are indoor office and retail. If you need exterior durability, we'll specify accordingly.

Do you help with design?+

Yes. Bring agency files, brand guidelines, or a napkin sketch—we can produce print-ready art, color proofs, and on-wall mockups when the project needs it.

What should we do to prep the space?+

Clear an 8–10′ buffer at the wall when possible, confirm power nearby, and share building rules (noise hours, dock booking). We'll send a checklist with your proposal.

Can you print our company logo on the wall?+

Yes—when you supply official vector artwork (from your brand guidelines or design partner). We’ll size it for viewing distance, match brand colors, and if you want pattern or color behind it, we’ll design a backdrop that doesn’t compete with the mark. We don’t recreate third-party trademarks from scratch.

Is there a tool to explore wall art ideas?+

Open Wall ideas in the site menu (/create)—it’s a simple mood sketchpad with visual style cards and logo-friendly starters. Output is inspiration only; production jobs still get proper file prep from us.
